This study aimed to determine the influence of Accessibility on the profitability
of micro and pop-up coffee shops in Bacoor City, Cavite. In the context of café
enterprises, Accessibility played a pivotal role in shaping different stakeholders'
attitudes and significantly impacted customer behavior. This study was anchored on
the "Location theory," initially developed by Johann Heinrich von Thünen, Alfred
Weber, William Alonso, and Walter Christaller. This theory explored the geographic
location of economic activities and the factors influencing their placement. It examined
why certain economic activities were situated where they were. This study explored
the relationship between accessibility factors and the profitability of micro and pop-up
coffee shops.
A quantitative research design was utilized, and data were collected through
survey questionnaires administered to owners and staff of micro and pop-up coffee
shops along Bacoor City, Cavite. The questionnaire included a Likert scale used to
determine each variable's importance level. It included several variables, such as the
different accessibility factors, namely Location, Traffic Congestion, and Proximity to
other coffee shops. Moreover, it also included variables used to determine profit, such
as average daily sales, average monthly sales, profit margins, and customer
acquisition costs. The questionnaire also sought to understand if there was a
significant relationship between accessibility factors and the profitability of these coffee
shops.
The study found that the location, traffic, and nearby competition heavily
influenced micro and pop-up coffee shops in Bacoor City, Cavite. Daily and monthly
sales were critical indicators of profitability. Profit margins were crucial in assessing
success, especially for smaller coffee shops. Customer acquisition costs strongly
impacted profitability. Location and traffic congestion strongly correlated with sales,
profit margins, and acquisition costs, while proximity to other coffee shops mainly
affected sales.
The results and interpretation of the data highlighted the critical influence of
location, traffic congestion, and proximity to other coffee shops on the success of micro
and pop-up coffee shops in Bacoor City, Cavite. These factors stood out as pivotal
determinants of profitability, emphasizing the necessity for meticulous site selection
strategies and thorough market research. Owners should have prioritized convenient,
high-traffic locations, leveraging insights from consumer behavior and competitor
proximity to optimize visibility and attract potential customers. Additionally, the
recommendations emphasized sales improvement through refined marketing,
customer loyalty programs, and pricing strategies, all while maintaining cost efficiency.
Leveraging data-driven insights was crucial, particularly in understanding location-
specific correlations to prioritize areas that aligned with profitability metrics. Balancing
perceived significance with data-backed proximity assessments to other coffee shops
could inform more informed location-related decisions for amplified financial success.
