This study explores the demographic profiles, motivational factors, and
benefits and incentives for motorcycle taxi riders in Bacoor City, Cavite. A survey of
mostly male riders aged 25 to 38 with 1 to 3 years of experience The findings
showed that both intrinsic and extrinsic factors significantly influence their
motivation, with intrinsic factors having a stronger impact. Among intrinsic factors,
achievement and recognition were the top motivators, while for extrinsic factors,
status was most important. The riders also strongly agreed on the value of various
benefits, particularly welfare, safety, and recognition. Demographic factors such as
age, length of service, and daily trips did not significantly affect most motivational
factors, except for the influence of daily trips on responsibility. The study concludes
that a combination of internal aspirations and external support, encompassing both
financial and non-financial benefits, is crucial for enhancing rider motivation and
well-being. These findings are essential for fostering a more sustainable and
professional motorcycle taxi industry by improving service quality and job
satisfaction.
