Plan. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Business Management major in
Human Resource Management. Cavite State University – Bacoor City Campus, City
of Bacoor, Cavite. January 2025. Adviser: Asst. Prof. Janice A. Nealega.
This study was conducted at Schneider Electric – Global Hub Philippines in
Rosario, Cavite, from June 2024 to January 2025. It aimed to explore the lived
experiences of employees hired through virtual recruitment, focusing on their
demographic profiles, perceived advantages and challenges of virtual recruitment, and
comparative experiences between virtual and in-person recruitment. The study sought
to determine how these insights could contribute to enhancing Schneider Electric's
recruitment plan, ensuring a more effective and efficient hiring process.
A descriptive phenomenological research design was used, utilizing in-depth
interviews with 13 current employees of Schneider Electric who had undergone both
virtual and in-person recruitment methods. Participants were selected through
purposive sampling, in which researchers chose participants based on several
conditions: current employment at the company, prior experience with in-person
recruitment, and being hired virtually between 2020 and 2023. The study used semi-
structured interviews, combining predetermined questions with opportunities to ask
follow-up questions, enabling participants to share their personal experiences,
particularly on virtual recruitment’s advantages and disadvantages.
The study provides actionable recommendations for improving Schneider
Electric’s recruitment strategy, including utilizing enhanced job advertising platforms,
investing in pre-interview technological briefings for candidates, integrating a hybrid
recruitment model, and enhancing the overall candidate experience. These
recommendations aim to boost the effectiveness of the company’s recruitment by
taking into account the experiences and preferences of the participants. The
implications of these findings extend beyond Schneider Electric, offering valuable
guidance for HR practitioners in optimizing virtual hiring strategies to attract and retain
top talent in the digital era.

Description
This undergraduate thesis explores the lived experiences of employees hired through virtual recruitment at Schneider Electric – Global Hub Philippines, Rosario, Cavite. Conducted from June 2024 to January 2025, the study employed a descriptive phenomenological design with 13 purposively selected employees who experienced both virtual and in-person recruitment. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews to capture participants’ perspectives on the advantages, challenges, and differences between the two recruitment methods. Findings highlight both the efficiency and accessibility of virtual recruitment as well as concerns about technical barriers and limited interpersonal interaction. Based on participants’ insights, the study recommends enhancing Schneider Electric’s recruitment plan by integrating hybrid recruitment models, improving job advertisement platforms, and offering pre-interview technological orientations. The research contributes to optimizing recruitment strategies in the digital era, offering guidance for HR practitioners to balance efficiency with candidate experience.
