Abstract
This study presents the design and development of an Inventory Management System using barcode technology for Cavite State University–Bacoor Campus. The primary objective of the system is to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and reliability of inventory monitoring and reporting. The existing manual process of tracking inventory items was found to be time-consuming, prone to human error, and inefficient in generating real-time reports.
The system was developed using the Waterfall software development model. Visual Basic 2008 was utilized as the programming language, and Microsoft Access served as the database management system. Barcode technology was integrated to streamline item identification, data entry, and tracking processes. The system provides functionalities such as item registration, barcode generation, inventory monitoring, and report generation.
Evaluation of the system was conducted by IT experts, faculty members, and staff of Cavite State University–Bacoor Campus. The results indicated that the developed system met the required standards in terms of functionality, usability, and performance. The implementation of the barcode-based inventory management system significantly enhanced operational efficiency and reduced errors in inventory control.
