Abstract
This study was conducted to understand how Jollibee Foods Corporation was able to adapt and be flexible during the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, the aim was to uncover the strategies that Jollibee Foods Corp. employed to maintain agility in this situation. The researchers focused on the crisis phase, which was relevant to what many organizations were experiencing as of the date of the study. The crisis phase refers to how organizations contained the crisis, and it includes three stages: the crisis-onset stage, crisis-stabilized stage, and the crisis resolution stage. Organizational agility is a term that describes how businesses adjusted their operations to unforeseen scenarios. It comprises three dimensions: customer agility, partnering agility, and operational agility.
The study used a descriptive method to determine the demographic profile of the subsidiary participants, including their sex, age, job position, and tenure and their assessment of crisis management and organizational agility. The correlational method was used to identify the relationships among the variables. Data were gathered from online survey questionnaires, with 148 participants from Jollibee branches located in Molino III and IV in Bacoor City, Cavite.
The results showed that Jollibee Foods Corporation needs to retain employees, most of whom are service crew, who are within the age bracket of 18 to 25 years and with a tenure of 1 to 5 years. This population represents a large number of employees who are skilled and flexible and capable of multitasking, qualities that are helpful for
an organization to become agile.
The study concludes that, in terms of operational agility, customer agility, and partnering agility, the majority of the participants agreed that all levels are effective in maintaining organizational agility. Furthermore, the study revealed that the majority of the participants agreed that the crisis management approach, specifically regarding
crisis containment in terms of crisis onset, crisis stability, and crisis resolution, was effective in containing the crisis and in making the organization agile and flexible.
