Abstract
Purchase motivation and purchase decisions were being possessed by
customers when purchasing a plant. The customers were motivated to purchase a
plant due to its price and business location and their decisions of purchasing a plant
were due to quality, promotion, and evaluation of alternatives. This study aims to
determine the relationship between socio demographic profile of the respondents and
purchase motivation and purchase decisions, and to analyze if there is a significant
effect between purchase motivation and purchase decisions in relation with plant
purchasers. This study used simple random sampling method and the data was
collected to 138 respondents in selected Barangay in Bacoor City, Cavite. In Barangay
Molino Vl. The result showed that most of the plant purchasers were 25-31 years old,
and most of them were females, and their monthly income was 10,000 pesos below.
On the level of purchase motivation, the respondents agreed about the price and
business location which got a general weighted mean of 3.03. On the level of purchase
decisions, the respondents also agreed about the quality, promotion, and evaluation
of alternatives which got a general weighted mean of 3.06. Moreover, the result
showed that there was a significant effect between purchase motivation and purchase
decisions, which means that if customers have high motivation to purchase, then they
will most likely have the decision to purchase a plant. Also, the relationship between
socio demographic profile of the respondents and purchase motivation and purchase
decisions was found not significant.
