Abstract
The purpose of this study was to established good perceptions about
opportunities offered by the Hospitality Industry and to address possible alignment of
opportunities that would fit the needs of graduates of the Program to ensure their
readiness to face the demands of future employment. It aimed to proposed enhanced
Curriculum of Hospitality Program of Cavite State University Bacoor Campus to
produce globally competitive and employable graduates.
According to the data acquired by the researchers, the factors that affect the
career choice of the respondent in terms of Economic Factors is “I expect the
availability of the job that suits me and will provide growth to my career” which got the
highest rank, In terms of Social Factors the highest rank is, "it is my passion that helps
me to pursue the course or career to take and I look at my ability such as knowledge
and skills.", And In terms of Environmental Factors the highest rank is, "I prefer things
to do what I like the most”. So in these factors, we can come up with recommendations
based on their perception, giving them the best opportunities for their future course or
career. It also shows that the three factors affect the career choice they make. And all
three played different roles in career outcomes.
While on the other hand, the researchers were able to come up with the
recommendations by enhancing the curricular offerings reflecting in the learning
activities in terms of interpersonal competence, fundamental skills, and personal
qualities to prepare the students with a broader array of technical skills through
classroom-based experiences to develop student's skills and have a good
understanding of themselves and their personalities to make intelligent career plans.
