This study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of Sangguniang Kabataan
(SK) officials in Barangay Maharlika, Imus City, Cavite, and problems encountered
affecting the performance of their power and function.
The study was conducted in Barangay Maharlika, Imus City, Cavite to determine
the effectiveness of the two groups of respondents which is the Sangguniang Kabataan
(SK) members, and the Community. The significant difference of the two groups of
respondents and the perception of the residents with regards to the effectiveness of the
Sangguniang Kabataan in Barangay Maharlika Imus City Cavite this chapter discussed the
procedure used by the researcher to measure the effectiveness of Sangguniang Kabataan
officials in the performance of their powers and functions.
Additionally, the researcher used descriptive quantitative research approach with
simple random sampling and survey questionnaires, the study underscores the need for
improved consultation and coordination with youth organizations to enhance their
performance in policy formulation and program implementation. This research emphasizes
the importance of addressing these challenges to further strengthen the effectiveness of
Sangguniang Kabataan officials in the community. This also sheds light on the
performance of SK officials in Barangay Maharlika and underscores the importance of
enhancing collaboration and communication with youth organizations to improve the
effectiveness of the Sangguniang Kabataan in the locality.
Based on the conclusion formed in this study, the researcher endorses the following
recommendations: perform fund-raising activities; Sangguniang Kabataan officials should
hold activities for youth development projects such as educational programs, sports events,
or youth-oriented projects that contribute to the welfare and growth of the youth
population. Create a regular and special committee; the officials of Sangguniang Kabataan
must conduct these regularly to effectively carry out their programs and projects. Conduct
a regular meeting; SK officials must carry out meetings together with youths and allow
them to participate in the planning and execution of their Programs, Projects, and Activities
(PPAs).
