Abstract
LLENA, AARON DAVE Z. and MALANG, ANISAH A. Levels of Effectiveness on
the implementation of the Barangay tanod in foot patrolling towards crime
prevention in Barangay Talon Uno Las Pinas City. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of

This study was conducted from June 2023 to August 2024.This was conducted to
determine the levels of effectiveness on the implementation of foot patrolling towards
crime prevention in Brgy. Talon Uno, Las Pinas City. Also, to determine the problems
encountered by the barangay in implementing foot patrol in Angara, Talon Uno, Las Pinas
City and establish recommendations or solutions to address the problems encountered by
the barangay in implementing foot patrol in the barangay. In order to find out the
recommendations and methods which could help the researchers to identify the problems
encountered by the barangay tanod towards crime prevention, quantiative design and
random sampling was used in the study. An interview-guide questionnaire was utilized in
data-gathering to identify the problems. The researchers utilized random sampling wherein
the researcher’s selected participants at random from the population. There is an equal
chance of selection for every member of the population. The results of the study determined
the levels of effectiveness on the implementation of foot patrolling towards crime
prevention. It shows that the implementation of the foot patrolling is effective. The study
also revealed that the barangay tanod have challenges related to a lack of community
support and cooperation. Lastly, for the improvement of the foot patrolling towards crime
prevention, the barangay tanod and community should communicate with each other so
that crime would be lessen because according to Robert Peel “police is the community and
the community is the police.”
