Abstract
This study aimed to examine the relationship between proper waste implementation systems and food safety management among food-related businesses in Molino 3, Bacoor City, Cavite. It focused on evaluating the waste management practices of establishments—particularly in terms of reduce, reuse, and recycle—and how these practices affect food safety standards including cleanliness, waste handling, and personal hygiene among food handlers. The research employed a descriptive-correlational method, gathering data through surveys from business owners and employees. It also examined the business profiles of the respondents in relation to their waste and food safety practices.

Findings revealed varying levels of implementation of the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), with some businesses exhibiting strong compliance while others lacked consistency, particularly during peak operational hours. Moreover, food safety practices were found to be moderately observed, with hygiene and waste handling posing potential risks if not regularly monitored. Statistical analysis indicated a significant relationship between proper waste implementation and the effectiveness of food safety management, highlighting that improved waste practices contribute positively to safer food environments.

The study concludes that proper waste implementation is not only an environmental responsibility but also a critical component of food safety in food service establishments. It recommends awareness campaigns, stricter enforcement of regulations, and continuous training for food handlers to ensure sustainable and safe practices in the local food industry.
