Abstract

the level of willingness of unfinished criminology students to complete their degree when they
are still in the program: and to create a recommendation to address the leading factors.
The study used descriptive method of study. The purposive sampling was used in
determining the proper respondents and through the four-point Likert Scale, the data gathered
has been properly interpreted.
With regards to factors affecting the Bachelor of Science in Criminology students of
Cavite State University Bacoor City Campus to not finish their degree, the Bachelor of Science
in Criminology students was found out that school has the highest factors affecting academic
performance.
For the school factors, strict implementation of maintaining average and the qualifying
examination, failure to comply and pass will result to termination from the program.
Additionally lack of equipment for academic purposes is the least factor for Bachelor of
science and Criminology students at Cavite State University Bacoor City Campus to not finish
their degree.
However, with regard to the level of willingness the indicators, respecting all the
professors, always following the rules and regulations of the school, and going to the school
whenever they have class show the Bachelor of Science in Criminology students’ high
willingness to complete their degree when they are still in the program.
Nevertheless, despites the high willingness of the Criminology student of Cavite State
University Bacoor City Campus to finish their degree there are still factors that could lead them
from dropping, such as school, family, personal and social factors.
With these, the recommendations are advancement program and acceptance of
probationary students. Advancement program is the process of improving the academic
performance of criminology students both for higher and lower classes. It is designed for the
lower year (1st and 2nd) criminology students that aim to improve their academic performance
through having a review on subjects included in their qualifying exam and having guidance and
consultation for academic purposes led by the higher years (3rd and 4th). They will serve as a
tool for them to practice or preview for licensure examination. Whereas acceptance of
probationary students is the process for students is the process for students who failed in
maintaining the required average by taking a removal examination. If they pass the said exam,
they could be given a chance to enroll for the next semester, but they must obtain the required
maintaining average otherwise, they will be terminated from the program.
