Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the Perceived Environmental Impact of Balite Waterfalls in the Community of Barangay Banay-Banay. Specifically, this study was designed to describe the demographic profile of the respondents. Identify the positive and negative Environmental Impact aspect and the factors in sustaining Balite Waterfalls.
This study utilized a descriptive method of research. Through the use of questionnaires. Perceived Environmental impact was obtained. This study also used Statistical treatment of the analysis and interpretation of the gathered data such as percentage, weighted mean, Likert scale.
Out of 96 local respondents that was chosen as the respondents of the study, 50 belong to the male gender which has a percentage distribution of 52.08 and the remaining 46 respondents belong to female gender which has a total percentage distribution of 47.92. It means most of the respondents are male who are more available on the barangay survey. And in the positive environmental impact, the result shows that the respondents are strongly agree with the total mean of 3.60 that Balite waterfalls regulates a good air quality are observed. Furthermore, in negative environmental impact, they strongly agree with a total weighted mean of 1.64 that the bad weather provides flash floods because of construction of infrastructure. However, they strongly agree about the factors in sustaining of Balite waterfalls with a total weighted mean of 3.74 that the planting trees are the factor into their community.
