Hospital Information and Billing System of E. Zarate Hospital.Undergraduate

This study was conducted to develop Hospital Information and Billing System
of E. Zarate Hospital. The software was developed for the benefit of both staff and
other employees of E. Zarate Hospital in making hospital transactions such as
records, billing and reports be easier and faster.
Iterative waterfall Methodology was used as the development methodology of
the software. It has six processes: requirement analysis, system design,
implementation and coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
The system was developed through the use of different tools: Vb.Net as the
programming language and My SQL Workbench 8.0 as database.
The system was evaluated using ISO 9126, based on the given criteria:
Functionality, Reliability, Usability, Efficiency and Portability. Evaluation was
composed of IT instructors, Nurses/Staff and Guardians/Patient. The overall rating of
the system is 4.70 which are interpreted as “Excellent”. All the given criteria of the
evaluation and targeted features and functionality of the system as well as the
requirements and objectives were met.
The findings of the study have brought out these recommendations which can
help the system for its future use and development. It was recommended by the
evaluators that the system add a notification through SMS that will be able to inform
the doctors and the nurses of their respective schedules, improve the generation of
reports by adding charts or graphs so the user can easily analyze the statistical data
given by the system, and may be able to have an inventory of pharmacy’s stock of
medicines.

Description
This undergraduate thesis focused on the development of a Hospital Information and Billing System for E. Zarate Hospital to streamline transactions such as patient records, billing, and report generation. The system was developed using VB.Net and MySQL Workbench 8.0, following the Iterative Waterfall methodology. Evaluation through the ISO 9126 software quality model by IT instructors, nurses, staff, and guardians/patients yielded an overall rating of 4.70, interpreted as “Excellent.” The system successfully met all functional and technical requirements, though recommendations were made for enhancements including SMS notifications for schedules, graphical report generation for statistical analysis, and integration of pharmacy inventory management.
