The study entitled “The Consumer Preference among Glutathione Soap in Selected Barangays in Bacoor, Cavite” was conducted to describe the socio-economic characteristics of consumers among glutathione soap, determine the consumer preference among glutathione soap, determine the factors influencing the consumer among glutathione soap, and identify the problems encountered of consumers among glutathione soap.

This study was conducted in five barangays in Bacoor, Cavite, namely; Molino I, Molino VI, Queens Row West, San Nicolas I, San Nicolas II from January to February 2012. A total of 100 respondents were chosen using purposive sampling. Data were collected through personal interview with the use of prepared questionnaire. Data were analyzed using percentage and ranking.

Most the consumers of glutathione soap were in the early adulthood with the age bracket of 23 to 32 years old with mean of 31 years old. The data also showed that the consumers were mostly female and single. Generally, almost all of the respondents were working and majority of them (67%) work as private employees. The respondents also attended formal education and have a high level of education attainment. The majority of respondents (79%0 were all college graduates. End Earn from Php. 10,001 to Php. 15,000 with a mean of Php. 14,051.

The top brand of glutathione soap commonly preferred by consumers is Belo Whitening because of its effectiveness in whitening their skin. When buying, consumers are considering the brand and features of the glutathione soap. Consumers are also cautious about safety needs of glutathione soap. They want to have healthy skin, avoid skin problems and be protected from germs upon buying glutathione soap.

Performance attributes like the quality and efficiency of the brand is also one of the factors influencing the consumers among glutathione soap.

Nine out of ten consumers of glutathione soap did not encounter any skin problem after using their preferred glutathione soap.
