Abstract
The study is entitled Employee Engagement Affecting Individual
Performance Commitment of Faculty Members in Cavite State University Bacoor City
campus. This study will be conducted to determine the demographic profile of the
faculty members of Cavite State University Bacoor City campus; determine the level
of employee engagement in terms of goal settings, job autonomy, strategic attention
and role benefits of the faculty members in Cavite State University Bacoor City
campus; determine the individual performance commitment of faculty members of
Cavite State University Bacoor City campus; evaluate the significant difference
between the demographic profile towards employee engagement of faculty members
in Cavite State University Bacoor City campus; evaluate the significant difference
between demographic profile and individual performance commitment of faculty
members of Cavite State University Bacoor City campus and to evaluate the
significant effect between the level of employee engagement and individual
performance commitment of faculty members in Cavite State University Bacoor City
campus.
The study is relevant as it aims to help the campus administrators gain insights
into what to measure in helping employees be effectively committed at work. It will
give an idea to the management on how they’re going to improve employee
engagement on employees when it comes to their performance commitment. The
faculty members will be able to express their needs and motivations. This will also
serve as a reference for future researchers who will conduct further studies about

employee engagement affecting individual performance commitment. The study is
conducted from June to December 2021. The main limitation of this study is its focus
on employee engagement affecting the individual performance commitment of the
faculty members on Cavite State University Bacoor City campus. Eighty-five
employees of Cavite State University Bacoor City campus including permanent,
temporary, contractual and the JO/lecturer are the sample size of the respondents
using purposive random sampling technique. The researchers used percentages to
get the 85-sample size of respondents and distributed to each employment status
with 9 respondents; 2 contractual; 2 temporary, and 84 lecturers for a total of 97
respondents.
The researchers used percentages to determine the demographic profile of the
respondents in terms of age, civil status, employment status, and length of service.
The weighted mean is used to get the average of overall respondents from the
tabulated data distribution. Likert Scale is used to interpret the employee
engagement affecting the individual performance commitment of faculty members in
Cavite State University Bacoor City Campus. The Chi-Square Test of Independence
is also used to determine a significant difference between the demographic profile,
employee engagement, and individual performance commitment of the faculty
members on Cavite State University Bacoor City Campus.
Results revealed that the age of respondents who were the Cavite State
University Bacoor City campus employees ranged from 20-50 plus years old. It was
found that the majority of the respondents were single. The majority of the
respondents were in the contract of service with 75.30 percent. In terms of length of
service, most of the respondents were 1-10 years in the service with a percentage of
67 percent.
The study revealed no significant difference between the demographic profile and
employee engagement of faculty members. There is not enough evidence to show a
significant difference in the employee’s engagement when grouped according to civil

status, employment status, and years in service. Still, there is enough evidence to
show a significant difference in the employee’s engagement in terms of goals
settings when grouped according to age.
The study revealed a significant difference between the demographic profile and
individual performance commitment of faculty members. There is no sufficient
evidence to show a significant difference in the individual performance commitment
of faculty members when grouped according to their age, civil status, employment
status, and years in service.
The study revealed the significant effect of employee engagement on the
individual performance commitment of faculty members. The derived mathematical
equation model is significant to predict the Individual Performance Commitment of
Faculty members based on Employee’s Engagement.
