Abstract
Human resource management is the most active department of an
organization. They are responsible for managing the employee life cycle: finding,
screening, recruiting and training job applicants, as well as administering employee-
benefit programs. Human resource is one of the foundations of an organization that
leads to excellent work performance of employees. HR leaders are responsible for
training their employees and providing them with support, empathy, and guidance in
dealing with work stress. They take the lead in providing solutions to workers and
confronting these issues to improve employee engagement and create positive work
cultures that prevent long-term stress among them.
The researchers used the descriptive research design and correlational
methods with the survey approach as the major technique in gathering data. The 138
respondents of the study were HR employees in Bacoor City, Cavite. The
researchers used the Likert scale to gather data and purposive sampling, the number
of which was computed using Priori statistical power analysis using G Power. They
conducted a survey using Google Forms and sought approval from the thesis
adviser, statistician, and panel. The questionnaire was given directly to the 138
respondents.
HR employees in Bacoor City, Cavite who are young adults aged 22 to 27
years more likely to experience occupational stress and need training. The majority
of them are females, employed for less than one year and working in staff positions.
The respondents agreed that they experienced occupational stress in terms of
intrinsic to the job, role in organization, and organizational structure and need training
in terms of job experiences enhancement, assessment and personalities and
abilities, and job-related competencies.
Based on the findings of the study, the researchers conclude that HR
employees need training in terms of job experiences enhancement as it has a
significant relationship with all areas of perceived occupational stress; as well as in
terms of job-related competencies as it has a significant relationship with intrinsic to
the job.
The researchers recommend for future applicants use on-the-job training
(OJT) to develop their skills or abilities and as this is an indicator resulting from
stress. They also recommend that human resource management provide leadership
training to employees for success in their current roles and help them prepare for
their future positions as they grow within the company. Moreover, they can conduct
free webinars about the effective and strategic use of technical skills and discuss
stress and the employees’ training needs to promote positive perceptions of
employee competencies. This can help employees determine their value and best
career path.
