Abstract
Gender gap as the discrepancy in social, political, intellectual, cultural, or
economic attainments or attitudes between men and women. In fact, for the first time
since records began in 2006, the gender gap in health, education, politics, and
economy has grown. At the current rate of advancement, the worldwide gender gap
will take a century to close, while the gender gap in the workplace will take 217 years
to close. From a biological standpoint, the current gender gap in representation is due
to differences between men and women.
Gender issues are no longer considered minor concerns they are now
considered critical components of policies, plans, and strategies. The contributions of
women and men to society, their partnership and full involvement, their distinct needs
and access to resources are all critical components in the development process.
Moreover, there are 165 graduate students in University of Perpetual Help System
Dalta Molino Campus Bacoor City, Cavite.
Results revealed that the most of the respondent were 20 to 25 years old
(63.64%) and female (69.70). Regarding experience was a factor of gender gaps in
labor force participation among male and female, with a general weighted mean of
2.85. Regarding social norms was a gender constraint that affecting the gender gaps
in labor force, with a general weighted mean of 2.53. Regarding challenges of gender
gaps in labor force the respondent believed that gender roles and work-family balance
was very challenging, with a general weighted mean of 2.83.
The researchers recommend to used alternatives to face challenges of gender
gaps in labor force and promote work-family balance, create quality care jobs, and
guard against downturns.
