Description
This undergraduate thesis explored the psychological well-being of senior citizens in Queen’s Row Central, Bacoor City, Cavite, using the PERMA model (Positive Emotions, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, and Achievements) as a framework. The study, conducted between December 2016 and April 2017, aimed to identify which PERMA factor was most lacking among the respondents in order to design an appropriate intervention program. Results from 63 respondents indicated that engagement was the most deficient factor, consistent with the Disengagement Theory, which suggests that social withdrawal in late adulthood is a normal and sometimes desirable part of aging.
