Abstract
AGRAVANTE, AIRA B. AND AUSTRIA, JULIE ANNE M. Management information System of Toyco Ren-A-Car. Undergraduate Thesis. Bachelor of Science in Computer Science Cavite State University - Bacoor City Campus, City of Bacoor, Cavite. April 2016. Adviser: Ms. Steffanie D. Maglasang.
The study was conducted to develop a LAN connection-based computerized management information system that aimed to provide the Toyco Ren-A-Car Company a system that would surely help to enhance the electronic management that contained automatic monitoring of information of the company's drivers, renter, supplier and vehicles. This system was developed to make an easy management, monitoring and organization for Toyco Rent-A-Car Company.
Throughout the study, the researchers found out that by using this LAN connection-based computerized management information system, booking officers and the admin of the company became more efficient in terms of managing the rental agreements and distributing information to the renters and drivers. At the time the renters and drivers became more informed about the rental agreement issues.
Capabiluty Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) was applied in the development of the system. The capability maturity model integration provided a layer for each maturity level such as the Initial, Managed, Defined, Quantitative Manage and the optimizing level for the foundation in continuous process improvement of the system. The system was tested and evaluated through evaluation forms with 216 participants composed of faculty and Toyco Rent-A-Car Company's staffs.
The Microsoft Visual Studio version 2010 were used as the programming language and Microsoft SQL server 2008 version are employed as the software's database for the storage and retrieval of data. The Microsoft Word was utilized for the documentation and Adobe Photoshop CS6, Paint and Microsoft Power Point for creating background pictures and icons.
The software evaluation was done by the IT and CS faculty of Cavite State University-Bacoor Campus and staffs of Toyco Rent-A-Car Company. System. System was evaluated with the set of criteria: functionality; reliability; usability; efficiency; maintainability and portability and got its general weighted mean of 4.73 denoted as "Excellent".
However upgrading the system in terms of its maturity to meet the rational changes expectations of the Toyco Rent-A-Car Company would help help in enhancing the system. It must consider also the damage cost of every maintenance of the vehicle included the credit card payment and online reservation for the renters for the easy access in the company.
