Abstract
This study was conducted from May 2021 to July 2022. This study was
conducted to determine the effectiveness of women’s desks in Barangay Salinas IV in
the City of Bacoor, Cavite using a descriptive analytical method of research, to
determine the problems that affect the effectiveness of Women’s Desk in Barangay
Salinas IV.
According to the Likert Scale used in the determination the level of
effectiveness of the Women’s Desk in Barangay Salinas IV’s that indicator 5 of Table
4 had a fairly composite mean of 3.61 which resulted to the verbal interpretation of
“Very Effective (VE)” that demonstrates and refers to the highest level of effectiveness
or satisfaction from the respondents’ experiences. The Barangay personnel and the
randomly selected residents of Barangay Salinas IV rated the indicator number 4 of
Table 4, which is the keeping of VAW case records confidential and secured with a
composite weighted mean of 3.13 and this result represented the least effective among
10 indicators.

of the Women’s Desk in Barangay Salinas IV’s that indicator 4 of Table 5 had a
composite weighted mean of 2.06 which resulted in the verbal interpretation of
“Disagree” which means respondents disagreed that assistance of the barangay
council was inadequate to support and secure the barangay protection order. Table 5
has 10 indicators and most of the indicators were not problems in effectiveness of the
Women’s Desk in Barangay Salinas IV. These findings would imply that women’s desk
officers in Barangay Salinas IV were performing well in assisting the victims. Despite
the good result, there were still indicators that needed improvement such as lack or
insufficient budget/resources and lack of funds to support the needs of the
complainant, and being uncooperative of the victim's relatives to reveal the actual facts
to the barangay personnel.
The researchers concluded that the Barangay VAW-Desk officers were
effectively performing their duties in Barangay Salinas IV. The respondents were
satisfied and gave good feedback, and the problems that the VAW-Desk officers
encountered as perceived by the respondents can be relieved by having income
generating activities and being stricter in giving private information of the victims to
other people.
