This study aims to determine the level of awareness of criminology students of
Cavite State University Bacoor Campus towards R.A. 11131 and the factors and
problems encountered by the respondents that affects their level of awareness. Specifically, this study aimed to identify the level of awareness and factors and problems
encountered of Criminology students of Cavite State University Bacoor Campus
towards R.A. 11131; determine the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of
their age and gender; and formulate recommendations based on the results of the study. This research employed a quantitative method; descriptive approach of research which
is the most appropriate way in determining the level of awareness of criminology
students of Cavite State University Bacoor Campus towards R.A 11131. In this way
their emotions, understanding, experiences regarding the study shall be given mere
analysis from the survey conducted. The main participants of this study were the one
hundred eighty criminology students who are enrolled at Cavite State University- Bacoor City Campus and the respondents also agreed in the gathering of information. In
the study, the researchers used the simple random sampling, a commonly used sampling
technique that ensures each member of the population has an equal chance of being
selected for the study. The instruments used in this study was reviewed by the thesis
adviser before gathering the data. According to initial findings, students who
participated in the survey had varying levels of awareness, with certain sections
showing a better level of knowledge than others. The research has effects in both the
academic and professional fields, offering valuable insights into the fundamental legal
knowledge that criminology students possess. Comprehending the various stages of
awareness is essential for formulating educational programs, customizing educational
interventions, and elevating the standard of criminology education as a whole. The
researchers recommendation to the department of criminology are to conduct a seminar, discussions, and conferences about the Republic Act 11131 to promote enhancement and
deeper understanding of the act's provisions and promote a sense of responsibility
among criminology students. Also, the institution shall integrate information drive about
the criminology profession act of 2018 into departmental orientation programs every
start of the semester to all criminology students. This ensures that awareness initiatives
begin early in students' academic journeys and are reinforced throughout their studies
others.
