This study developed the Student Well-Being Assessment Test, for the
assessment of students’ biological, psychological, social, and academic well-
being. The participants of this study, are bona fide students of Cavite State
University – Bacoor City Campus, The Student Well-Being Assessment is a four-
point Likert scale, with 48 items that encompasses the four domains, and is
culturally appropriate. The researchers underwent four phases of test
development. (1) Identifying construct of measurement. (2) Development of test
items. (3) Pilot testing. And 4. Item analysis and validation of result.
Overall, results show that 89.15% of the student population, 337 out of 378
of the sample sizes of bona fide students at Cavite State University – Bacoor City
Campus, exhibited moderate well-being in the overall level of well-being and its
subscales (Biological, Psychological, Social, and Academic), with the developed
assessment tool or the Student Well-being Assessment.
After the data gathering process, further content validation was conducted
in the form of focus group discussions with groups of students; 6 first-year students,
5 second-year students, 5 third-year students, and 5 fourth-year students. Open-
ended questions were given to drive the discourse in between students, to fully
disclose their well-being by each domain, and sharing their thoughts regarding the
construction and detail of the assessment tool, with triangulation for each situation
the participants experiences.

Description
This study developed and validated the Student Well-Being Assessment Test (SWAT), a culturally appropriate 48-item, four-point Likert scale designed to measure students’ biological, psychological, social, and academic well-being. Following four phases—construct identification, item development, pilot testing, and item analysis with validation—the study engaged 378 bona fide students of Cavite State University–Bacoor City Campus. Results revealed that 89.15% of respondents demonstrated moderate well-being across all domains. Further validation was conducted through focus group discussions with students from all year levels, ensuring comprehensive insights and refinement of the tool. The SWAT contributes to psychological assessment by offering a reliable instrument for evaluating student well-being.
