The study entitled “3R Trash: An Android Application for Proper Waste Management” was conducted to develop an Android Application for proper waste management to help the students to be aware in terms of proper segregation. The system has one level of access which is the user. The user allowed to playab all the modules of the system: game module, user module, and setting module.
The researchers used the Rapid Application Development as the methodology for the development of the system. It has six phase, Analysis and Quick Design, Build, Demonstrate, Refine, Testing and Implementation. The application was developed with the use of different development tools. For the module construction and game engine they used Unity 5.4.1.f1 , C# as the programming language and Microsoft Word 2007 for the system documentation.
The system was evaluated based on ISO 9126 criteria: suitability, accuracy, security, understandability, operability, efficiency, maintability, installability and adaptability. Evaluators were composed of 100 High School Students, 6 IT instructor of Cavite State University – Bacoor City Campus and 6 IT Professionals. the system got an overall rating of 4.69which was interpreted as “Excellent”. This means that all the given criteria for the evaluation targeted features, and functionality of the system as well as the requirements and objectives were met. The 3R Trash mobile game is capable in giving viii awareness about proper waste management. To enhance the system, the developers recommended the following; it should provide more phases and place in each stages in story mode, should be playable in IOS platform and etc.
