Abstract
This study focuses on the road condition of Zapote to Molino Road in Bacoor
City, Cavite that answers the following questions: The assessment of both PUJ and
PUV drivers; the significant difference between the responses of the respondents;
and the problems encountered by the respondents in usage of the said road. Lastly,
to establish and propose a plan and solution for the improvement and development
to address the result of the study based on the gathered problems.
In order to find out the recommendation and methods which could help the
researchers to identify the assessment of the respondents as to the road condition
of Zapote to Molino Road, a quantitative research and descriptive research design
was used in order to understand and evaluate the perception of the of PUJ and PUV
drivers. The questionnaire was a data gathering instrument to identify the factors
and problems in line with the DPWH (Department of Public Works and Highways)
manual book 1 and 2 that was validated by the thesis adviser. This study was
composed of 60 respondents, 30 PUJ and 30 PUV drivers.
This study will help in determining the assessment of the road condition and problems encountered by the respondents.
The results of the study determine the assessment of the PUJ and PUV drivers as to the road condition of Zapote to Molino road shows that the respondents
themselves are satisfied with the proper regulation, maintenance and supervision of
the road safety designs, road signs and pavement markings in Zapote to Molino
road. The study also resulted that both PUJ and PUV drivers agree on the identified
problems to be considered that need to be addressed to consistently maintain the
road safety. One of the problems encountered are the road's lack of delineation and
signing, Installation of signs are not mounted properly making it difficult to be seen
by the drivers and road's route are not available for bicycles. Therefore, it is
recommended that the positioning and installing of the traffic signs as well as the
uniformity of the design should have its standard and well followed directive to be
clear with its information and its visibility to the road user. This is to avoid such
accidents. The data and analysis of the responses of the respondent’s satisfaction
have no significant difference. The responses of the PUJ and PUV drivers are
similar and they concur with the data findings because they often and repeatedly
passed vehicular traffic on the road.
Lastly, to establish proposed plan and solution for the improvement and development to address the result of the study based on the gathered problems and issues that is needed to be addressed to maintain and sustain the road safety in
Zapote to Molino road.
